Neil Barbour and Julie on their first wrecking trip on Flamer IV caught four Ling,two on lures and two on Ammo Squid Baits.Flamer IV regular Phil Harrison landed some Cod with the biggest weighing 14Ib 15oz.While trying for Ling with Squid and Mackerel baits,Phil kept catching Congers,”Never Mind Phil,Better luck with the Ling next time”.

Mick Beach (above) landed a 5Ib 8oz Plaice while drift fishing aboard Flamer IV. Mick was using 8Ib class tackle with a two hook flatty trace that had green and black coloured attractor beads on. The successful bait was ragworm and strips of Ammo squid.

Mark Towner (above) landed his Personal Best Plaice while drift fishing aboard Flamer IV.The Plaice weighed in at 6Ib. Mark was using 10Ib class tackle with a two hook flatty trace baited with ragworm and strips of Ammo squid.

Mike Setherton a member of the Cormorants SAC landed his Personal Best Thornback Ray weighing 16Ib 3oz whilst also fishing at anchor on a bank aboard Flamer IV. Mike was using an up-tide rod with a flowing trace. The successful bait was a cocktail of Ammo squid and Mackerel mounted on a pennel rig.

Richard Christian from Dorchester, Dorset landed a 13Ib Turbot on his 38th birthday. Richard was using a Shakespeare 20Ib class rod with a flowing trace and 4/0 hook.The successful bait was a strip of Ammo Mackerel.

All three fish were returned alive

John Hole from Sussex landed his personal best Spurdog which weighed in at 18Ib. John caught the big spur while anchored on a bank aboard Flamer IV. John was using a Shakespeare up-tide rod with a pennel rig of Sakuma  6/0 and 4/0 hooks baited with a cocktail of Ammo squid and Mackerel.

He also had a right old struggle trying to land a 25Ib Blonde Ray. Both fish were returned alive.

Dave Metcalf (above) from Dorset also landed a personal best Spurdog which weighed 17Ib.Dave caught the big Spur whilst also fishing at anchor. Dave was using an up-tide rod and the successful bait was a cocktail of Ammo squid and mackerel mounted on a pennel rig. The Spurdog was returned alive.

Clive Morgan from Poole caught a 21Ib Blonde Ray while drifting a bank. Clive was using 20Ib class tackle with a flowing trace baited with a strip of Ammo mackerel. The male ray was returned alive.

Ashley Furguson (above) from Hampshire on his first ever trip aboard Flamer IV landed a 7lb Turbot on the first drift of the day. Ashley was using a Shakespeare 30lb class Ugly Stick rod and a Penn 4/0 reel with a flowing trace baited with a strip of Ammo mackerel.

Steve Perkins from Southampton caught the best Turbot and Plaice in the first match of the year.The Turbot weighed 8lb

and the Plaice 4lb.

Steve was using a 12Ib class Shakespeare Ugly Stick and the successful bait for the Turbot was a strip of Ammo mackerel and for the Plaice ragworm with a strip of Ammo squid.

Kevin Pyle from Rickmansworth landed a personal best Pollack of 14Ib while drifting a wreck aboard Flamer IV .Kevin was using a 15Ib class Shakespeare Ugly Stick rod with a flying collar rig and a black red gill lure.

Rob Shattock from Southampton landed a 4Ib 8oz Brill while drift fishing. Rob was using 10Ib class tackle and the successful bait was a strip of Ammo mackerel. Rob also caught a Turbot which he returned alive. Rob is pictured with his Brill catch!

John Bellamy from Southampton is pictured with a 3Ib 8oz Plaice. John was using 8Ib class tackle with a trace that had lots green and black beads on and silver blades. The successful bait was ragworm and a strip of Ammo squid. John was pleased to land this Plaice as he lost a bigger one earlier. John also caught a Turbot which he returned alive.

Finally Paul Roper is pictured with the 3Ib Plaice he caught. Paul was using 10Ib class tackle with a trace that had lots of coloured attractor beads on and a wobbly spoon. The successful bait was ragworm, prawn and a strip of Ammo squid.

Mark Towner caught several Pollack while drifting offshore wrecks aboard Flamer. Mark was pleased to land a personal best Pollack which weighed in at 14Ib.Mark was using 15Ib class tackle with a flying collar rig and the successful lure was a rhubarb and custard side winder.

Trevor Cozens also broke his Personal Best Pollack record twice while drifting a wreck.. Trevor landed a PB Pollack weighing 10Ib and then set another PB with a Pollack weighing 13Ib 8oz. Trevor was using 15Ib class tackle.

Andy Collings had a superb Undulate Ray weighing 13Ib 8oz which was a male. On the next drop he caught a female Undulate Ray weighing 11Ib.Andy was using 20Ib class tackle and the successful bait was Ammo squid and mackerel mounted on a pennel rig. Both rays were returned alive.
