Jenny Foley (above) landed an 18Ib Cod while fishing at anchor on a reef to the east side of Portland Bill Jenny was using 20Ib class tackle and the successful bait was a cocktail of Ammo Squid and Mackerel. Jenny has a habit of catching big fish aboard Flamer much to the amazement or is it annoyance to partner Rick. In total 12 different species were all caught on the same mark.
Owen Poplett (above) from Eastbourne landed his first ever Spurdog and what a fish as it weighed in at 17Ib.Owen caught the big Spur while fishing at anchor on a reef and was using an uptide rod coupled with a pennel rig. The successful bait was two Ammo baits calamari squid. The Spurdog was released alive.
Andy Collings (above) landed a personal best Brill weighing 5Ib 8oz while drift fishing aboard Flamer IV. Andy was using 10Ib class tackle with a flowing trace baited with a strip of Ammo mackerel.
Brian Stacey (above) got in on the act with his personal best Plaice weighing 4Ib 14oz. Brian was using 10Ib class tackle with a spreader rig baited with ragworm and Ammo squid strips. Then Marcin Skora landed his first ever Plaice and what a fish as it weighed in at 5Ib 9oz.Marcin was well pleased to say the least. Marcin was using 10Ib class tackle with a two hook flatty trace with lots of coloured attractor beads on.
Richard Christian (above) landed three good size Plaice while drift fishing aboard Flamer IV. In fact he broke his personal best twice with Plaice weighing 4Ib 8oz and 5Ib 12oz.Richard was using 10Ib class tackle with a two hook flatty trace that had lots of coloured beads on. The successful bait was ragworm and strips of Ammo squid. Richard is pictured with his best fish of 5Ib 12oz.
Graham Bealing (above) caught a plaice weighing 6Ib during an Albion SAC trip. Graham was using 10Ib class tackle with a two hook flatty trace with lots of coloured attractor beads on and the successful bait was rag and black lugworm cocktail and a strip of Ammo squid.
Dave Lam (above) a local angler caught two personal best Plaice during a drifting session. First Dave landed a 4Ib 8oz Plaice a new best then beat that with a 4Ib 12oz fish.
Jim James (above) from Poole landed his first ever Plaice weighing 4Ib and his first ever Turbot weighing 20Ib on an Albion SAC trip aboard Flamer IV. Jim was actually on the phone to his wife with his rod propped up against the hand rail when the big Turbot took his Ammo mackerel strip bait. So he now has a new nick name “Lucky Jim” given to him by the other club members.
Finally Mark Towner landed another personal best Plaice weighing 4Ib 14oz whilst fishing on the drift.
