Rain, Wind and plenty of fish when you get to them…..Weymouth update

Weymouth Charter Latest:

John Bickford (above) from Bristol landed a personal best Turbot weighing 16Ib while drift fishing. John was using 15Ib class tackle with a flowing trace. The successful bait was a strip of Ammo mackerel.

Bill Oliver (above) from Bridgewater landed a 4Ib 8oz Plaice also drift fishing aboard Flamer IV. Bill was using 8Ib class tackle with a trace that had lots of attractor beads on. The successful bait was ragworm and black lugworm cocktail tipped with a strip of Ammo squid.

Carl Fuggle (above) from Portsmouth landed a 4Ib 4oz Plaice. Carl was using 8Ib class tackle with a two hook flatty trace with attractor beads and silver blades on. The successful bait was ragworm and a strip of Ammo squid.

John Marshall (above) from Portsmouth landed his first ever Turbot weighing in at 15Ib 4oz while also drift fishing. John was using 15Ib class tackle with a flowing trace and 4/0 hook. The successful bait was a strip of Ammo mackerel.

Tim Norman (above) from Taunton also got in on the act and landed his first ever Turbot weighing 14Ib 4oz. Tim was using 20Ib class tackle with a flowing trace and a 4/o hook baited with a strip of Ammo mackerel.

Paul Milkins (above) from Surrey landed his first ever double figure Turbot weighing 15Ib and now his new Personal Best, while drift fishing aboard Flamer IV. Paul was using 15Ib class tackle with a flowing trace and 4/0 hook baited with a strip of Ammo mackerel.


On the same trip on an earlier session at anchor Paul landed two Personal Bests in the shape of a 14Ib Spurdog and 13Ib Common Smooth Hound, these were both caught on 20Ib class tackle with the successful bait being Ammo squid and mackerel cocktail mounted on a pennel rig. Both these fish were returned alive.

Finally……Stephan Attwood (above) from Hampshire landed his personal best and first ever double figure Turbot weighing 13Ib while drift fishing aboard Flamer IV. Stephan was using 15Ib class tackle with a flowing trace and a 4/0 hook baited with a strip of Ammo mackerel.
