Anthony Benson (above) from Oxfordshire landed his personal best plaice weighing 4ib 10oz while drift fishing. Anthony was using 10lb class tackle and the successful bait was ragworm and black lugworm
cocktail and a strip of ammo squid.
Adrian Kruger (above) from Plymouth landed his personal best plaice weighing 4lb 12oz while drift fishing. Adrian was using 8ib class tackle with a trace with lots of attractor beads on and the successful bait was rag and lugworm tipped with a strip of ammo squid.
Tony Fitzmaurice (above) from Warrington did a “grand slam” on Flamer IV catching turbot, brill and plaice all on the same trip. Tony was using a Shakespeare 15lb class Ugly Stick rod. The successful bait for the turbot and brill was a strip of ammo mackerel and for the plaice he used ragworm tipped with a strip of ammo squid. Tony is pictured with the 5ib 4oz brill he caught on the last drift of the day.
Finally Derek Inwood (above) landed a personal best turbot weighing 21lb while drift fishing. Derek was using a Shakespeare 20lb class Ugly Stick rod with a flowing trace and 4/0 hook. The successful bait was a fillet of ammo mackerel.
