Hi winds have kept many boats in the harbour over the last month. When they can get our the fishing has still been good. Flamer IV sent us this short report on his recent catches.
Tristan Spencer (pictured above) on his first ever boat fishing trip with his dad Steve and brother Howard. Tristan landed several species including a 2Ib 8oz Trigger Fish. Tristan was using 6Ib class tackle with a two hook paternoster rig baited with Ammo squid strip and ragworm.
Andy Collings (pictured above) from Hitchen landed this personal best plaice weighing 5Ib 5oz. Andy was using 8Ib clas tackle with a two hook flatty trace baited with Ammo black lugworm, ragworm and squid strip.
Mick Nunn (above) also landed a specimen plaice weighing 5Ib 4oz.Mick was using 10Ib class tackle with a two hook flatty trace baited with Ammo black lugworm, ragworm and squid strip.
Finally Phil Baker on his first plaice fishing trip aboard Flamer IV landed two plaice weighing 4Ib 12oz and 6Ib 14oz.Phil was using 10Ib class tackle with a two hook flatty trace baited with Ammo black lug, ragworm and squid strip.
Hopefully the current gale force winds will drop and allow the boats to get in amongst the Pollack and Cod during the remaider of the month and through October…..
