Flaming Summer Fishing at Weymouth


Alf Honour landed a 21Ib Ling while fishing a wreck. Alf was using 20Ib class tackle and the successful bait was two whole calamari squid. Alf also caught cod and pollack on the same trip. Paul Milkins also landed several cod.Paul was using 15Ib class tackle with a flying collar rig and a rhubarb and custard sidewinder lure. Paul is pictured with his biggest cod of the day which weighed 18Ib 8oz.

Malcolm Glyn from Oxford landed two blonde rays weighing 18Ib and 20Ib during an anchor session. Malcolm was using a Shakespeare 30Ib class rod and the successful bait was a cocktail of Ammo squid and mackerel mounted on a pennel rig.

 Merrik Knight from Farnborough added a 12Ib male Undulate Ray whilst also at anchor on a reef to east of Weymouth. Merrik was using 20Ib class tackle and the successful bait was a squid and mackerel fillet cocktail mounted on a pennel rig.

Finally on this update Lenny Skilton landed a fine specimen 6Ib plaice during the Gypsy Mariners SAC annual angling break aboard Flamer IV. Lenny caught his personal best plaice while drift fishing and was using 10Ib class tackle with a two hook flatty trace baited with ragworm and squid strips.
