Flamer Latest into August – Lionel Washer (above) from Newlyn,Cornwall caught two blonde rays aboard Flamer with the biggest weighing 18Ib.Lionel was using 20Ib class tackle with Ammo squid and mackerel cocktail mounted on a pennel rig.
Paul Milkins (above) landed his first ever Undulate Ray while fishing at anchor off Weymouth. Pauls Undulate ray weighed 14Ib 8oz.Paul was using 20Ib class tackle with Ammo squid and mackerel fillet mounted on a pennel rig.The ray was returned alive.
Youngster Drew Goble also landed an Undulate Ray while fishing with his family on Flamer. Drew was using 20Ib class tackle with Ammo squid and mackerel fillet mounted on a pennell rig. Drew also caught a smaller Undulate on the same trip.
It was then back on the specimen Plaice that this charter if famous for. John Fitchett (pictured below) beat his personal best plaice with a fish weighing 5Ib 12oz while drift fishing. John was using only 6Ib class tackle teamed to a one hook trace with lots of attractor beds on. The successful bait was Ammo black lugworm with ragworm and squid strip.
Finally Peter Collings landed not one but two personal best plaice in one drift. Peter first caught a 5Ib plaice and then on the next drop pulled a whopping 7Ib 4oz plaice. Peter was using 8Ib class tackle with a three hook flatty trace baited with Ammo black lug ,ragworm and squid strip.
