Flamer May Latest
The fish keep coming aboard Flamer with the latest specimens reported as follows:
Glenn Barrett landed a personal best Pollack weighing 15lb 8oz while drifting a wreck. Glenn was using a Shakespeare 20ib class Ugly Stick rod and a flying collar rig matched with the current favourite rhubarb and custard sidewinder lure. Glenn is pictured above with his superb fish.
Glenn was followed by Garry Oates from Hayes who then landed a Pollack weighing 14Ib. Garry was also using a flying collar rig and a rhubarb and custard sidewinder lure on 15lb class tackle.
Changing species Bill Oliver from Somerset landed another personal best. This time it was a Turbot weighing 13Ib caught drifting a bank. Bill was using 20Ib class tackle with a flowing trace and a 3/0 hook baited with a strip of Ammo mackerel.
Antonnio Comparetto from Bristol then caught a Turbot weighing 15Ib. Antonnio was using a Shakespeare Salt 20Ib class rod and a Penn 209 level wind reel. The successful bait was a strip of Ammo mackerel presented on a flowing trace.
Finally, Robin Amor took a Turbot weighing 17Ib. Robin was using 20Ib class tackle and a flowing trace. Robin was getting frustrated at seeing other anglers on board catching Turbot that he got an Ammo mackerel cut the fillets off and put on the head and frame as bait and within two minutes he had his PB Turbot on! Luck or judgement? I think his smile say’s a lot!
