Flamer is not FLAT!

Plaice A Plenty!

Flamer IV has seen plenty of Plaice action this past week. England International Steve Clements from Weymouth started the string of specimen catches when he caught a plaice weighing 4Ib 2oz during the annual plaice competition between charter boats ‘Flamer’ and ‘Top Cat’. Steve captained the Flamer team to victory with a 30 plaice catch to ‘Top Cat’s’ 22 plaice. Steve is pictured above with his contribution tothe winning bag.

Neil Cottingham then followed this fish up with a fine plaice weighing 4Ib 1oz while drift fishing. Neil was using 8Ib class tackle with a two hook flatty rig baited with ragworm, black lug and a squid strip.

Finally James Mccarthy landed a 5lbs 5oz specimen whilst also drift fishing. James was also using 8Ib class tackle and a two hook flatty trace with lots of attractor beads attached. The successful bait was ragworm tipped with squid strip.
