EASTER AT CRYSTAL

At 40.05 a stunning start......

Well it has been a busy past four weeks for me – two 5 day working trips to Crystal Waters with limited fishing and a lot of driving !!

The first five day trip involved just two of us the last working party before Crystal opens for business so it involved fishing nights only. Between the two of us we landed a total of 17 fish, with two lovely forties the best tipping the scales at 48.00 lbs. All the fish had wintered really well and looked stunning. We were finding them in deep water as they hadn’t really started to feed and the lake was certainly ‘Crystal Waters’ when
we arrived being able to see bait in 10ft of water.

This was my first trial of the Berkley Gulp Carp Red Crustacean bait and within four hours of fishing a 36.08 mirror has graced my net. All my ten fish on this trip came on this bait – pretty instant you could say. All in all you could say it was a very successful week of fishing and work.

So it was back home for a week and then Easter Sunday we were on our way back again for another 5 days this time filming/photos with the JRC crew there was 7 of us this time.

First thing I noticed on arrival was how the water had coloured up since our previous trip obviously the fish has started to move and feed and this
coupled with some rain, and a few days of strong winds made the lake even more inviting.

Well a lot of work was completed and every one worked very hard to get some great filming and photography which we will see in the future.

This time in the limited amount of fishing time we had we had quality over quantity with some superb fish coming to the net.

Stewart Downing has two lovely forties, a 45.00 common and 42.00 mirror (sorry Stewart not sure about the ounces) Josh Hillman of Carpology a seniorwriter, has a lovely personal best with a 45.08 mirror caught on the new Cocoa Banana Gulp bait. Nick Harvey left it to the last night when he moved onto the Red Crustacean baits and banked 36.08 and 42.08 mirrors both fish were in mint condition. Rob Nunn one of our consultants had a bonus 38.00 sturgeon.

I myself banked 14 fish and this included 3 different forties all caught on the Red Crustacean all the party caught and I will be back in four weeks
to do it all again.

A 42.08 follow up and a fish in mint condition

Saving the best for last with a 45.12 mirror........pristine.....

The Red Crustacean bait is now available at Crystal Waters, if you are going it may be a good idea to order some through the Crystal office prior to your trip.

 Tight Lines.
